Machine worlds could manage it by being enclosed under a shell or something, which avoids things like lack of conduction to disperse heat, vacumn boiling of lubricants, micro meterorites causing constant erosion of parts, etc Heck even if you screw up the terraforming equipment project turning the planet toxic you get explained that all you did was screw over the atmosphere to be poisonous, was it chlorine or methane, I can't remember exactly, but when machine worlds literally have no atmosphere meaning that you don't have temperature being controlled by the coating of gas around the planet you could techincally get crazy temperature variations like we have on the Moon if going from +400 to -100 or something similar, and if that doesn't warp and deform the metal robots then what is a little dash of slightly corrosive atmosphere? Robot doesn't automatically mean 'suitable for vacumn exposure' It is not implied that a toxic world is literally an ocean planet but instead with acid instead of water.

Unless you are playing rogue servitor, any space/resources you spend on producing food 'for trade' is better spent on energy/mineral production (both of which you can also trade). If you want to harvest food for trade it should be an option. Which would be adorable but in reality they would make crops and harvest them at least as efficiently as organics.
